32 Teams representing 16 Clubs from the Cavan/Monaghan Underage League, Fermanagh Youth League and Co. Leitrim came together at Cootehill Harps FC on Saturday 17th May to play 4v4 and 7v7 Mini World Cup non-competitive games at the fantastic Clara Lane venue. The event along with the scheduled 5th July Mini World Cup and Coach Education courses is supported by The Peace III Programme managed for the special EU Programmes body by the County Cavan Peace III Peace and Reconciliation Partnership.
All games were played in a very sporting manner with great skill and excitement displayed by the young Boys and Girls on the day. Great credit must go to the coaches, managers, referees and parents who encouraged the kids to play the games in a non-competitive environment and for allowing the young Players the freedom to express their skills without the pressure of winning.
FAI Development Officer for Co. Cavan Tom Mohan ”thanked all Teams for attending and praised the respect shown for one another both on and off the pitch”. Tom also “thanked the Cavan County Council and the Peace III Peace and Reconciliation Partnership for providing Funding, Cootehill Harps FC for the preparation work on pitches and also the support from John Crudden FAI Development Officer for Co. Monaghan, The Cavan Monaghan Underage League, The Fermanagh Brendan Keogh Youth League and all participating clubs from Counties Cavan, Monaghan, Fermanagh and Leitrim”.
